Different Dimension Part II Swatches

Happy Friday guys!

I've got the second part to the Different Dimension post from Wednesday for you today. Get ready for more glittery goodness!

On Wednesdays We Wear PINK is a fun one! Although, I'm not sure where that random purple glitter on my middle finger came from. haha I layered one easy coat over Color Club Yum Gum.

Rainbows and Butterflies is so whimsical with it's butterfly shaped glitter. This is 2 coats over Revlon Aloof.

I can't stop looking this macro! So pretty!

This is Selene. The shimmer in this is to die for. I did one coat over Zoya Monica, but this could go over literally anything...love that versatility!

Next is Hanna. This can be a full coverage glitter in 3 coats. Here though, I decided to layer one coat over Sally Hansen Ruby Rush.

One of my favorite combos...here is 2 coats of Gumdrops over Sweet Polish from Born Pretty. I love how awesome the 2 look together!

And finally, this is Rock, Paper, Scissor, Lizard, Spock. I layered one coat over Orly Frisky. I like the mixture of matte and metallic glitters this one has.

Stud Nail Art

Hi polish lovers!

I have a funky manicure to show you this evening. I recently tried out these studs from Born Pretty Store after seeing a few similar manis on some blogs. My polish inspiration comes from this blog! She's a great one to follow if you aren't already.

So my base is Zoya Ali and my accent is China Glaze Gr8 and Orly Sashay My Way. I think the smaller size of studs that Born Pretty offers would have looked a little more natural (as natural as studs can look on nails. haha). But I was surprised at how much I liked the overall look!

The studs were very easy to apply and laid pretty flat on my nails.

I think I will be giving the smaller size a try soon! Do you like studs for nails?

Born Pretty Store Floral Nail Decals

Hello ladies!

My manicure today features some nail stickers from Born Pretty Store. These are a very easy, no-brainer way to get nail art and sometimes that all I have time for. haha 

So here is what I did with the stickers I got:

I layered Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White Out and then one coat of NOPI It's All About the Glam on top. This shimmer is pretty subtle but still adds a little something to the overall look. 

The stickers lay flat and adhered well to my nails. They are a little delicate but that's to be expected because of how thin they are anyway. They are super cute and girly...totally my style. ;)

Sweet Color Nail Polish from Born Pretty- Swatches and Review

Good morning everybody!

I have some swatches of some relatively new polishes from Born Pretty Store to show you today. The line is called Sweet Color and I think it's very fitting and I am sure you will see that too. I mostly lean toward cool tone polishes so those are the ones I am showing you today, but in the future I will show you more from this line!

All of these colors are a hybrid of a cream and a jelly. Some lean a little more one way or the other but overall I think that's the best description. They are mostly on the sheer side so it took about 3 coats to get full coverage. All of the formulas were very good and you will notice they are very shiny-that's without topcoat! But I think these would do pretty well for making jelly sandwiches which I like.

Like most polish from Born Pretty, these don't have names, only numbers.

The first is #232. This one reminds me of an apple flavored Jolly Rancher!

#337 is a lovely mint shade. I can never get enough of this color!

#009 is an aqua, another favorite color of mine!

#034, a sky blue, was one of the more opaque ones but it isn't totally a cream either.

#010 is a pigmented purple. This one had the most opaque coverage of the bunch.

And a quick overview. Do you have any favorites?

These are all sort of candy-like to me so that's why I think the Sweet Color name is fitting. ;) Even though these may not be the most original colors out there, I love having the option of a jelly finish in some of my favorite colors. So for that reason alone, I would say you are justified in owning them! haha

Born Pretty Store Black Polish + Nail Art

Hey guys!

I recently got some items from Born Pretty Store to review and this one didn't disappoint! This is a black polish with pretty gold fleck type glitter in it. I did 2 coats here and the formula was great!

The gold fleck in this polish inspired me to continue the gold into some nail art. I have been saving this mani from ColorfulBottle for inspiration and now was the perfect time to finally make the idea reality! First, I sponged the tips with Orly Luxe and used it to stamp a cheetah print design. I love the look the fade gives to the design!

This is a pretty simple nail art idea and it marries 2 of my favorite methods of nail art!

Born Pretty Store Blue Matte + Glitter Frames

Hey readers!

It's a late post for me today. I took a chunk out of my afternoon to get caught up on some sleep after my 1 1/2 year old kept me up half the night. Gotta love 'em. :)

I previously used these glitters from Born Pretty Store in *this* mani. This time, I used them on a matching blue matte polish also from Born Pretty. I used a toothpick and little dabs of base coat to apply the glitter. It was a bit of a challenge not letting the base coat ruin the matte finish anywhere the glitter wasn't covering but I am proud to say that it worked out quite nicely! I really like the contrast between the matte and glitter finishes.

I took more pics than normal to try and capture the dimension that the 2 finishes give to the overall look. Also, this blue matte is the best matte formula I have worked with! Like other mattes, you do have to work faster when applying. But unlike other mattes that dry with an imperfect finish, this one evens out to a perfectly smooth surface as it dries! So impressed.

Skittles Mani ft. Flying Blue Jay by Nailventurous Lacquers

Hey everyone!

I have been sick this weekend, and just found out my sister has mono and I feel like it's only a matter of time before I get it too. :(

So today I am showing you a skittles mani I wore when the heat wave was pretty intense. Looking at it now, I must have been thinking about cooler weather because it seems more fitting to be a wintertime mani! :) Either way, I am a fan of how this turned out:

Born Pretty Silver Shimmer + Dandy Nails Colorblind^2

Hi readers!

Another long day of pre-filling glitters for You Mix today...we are trying very hard to be open by tomorrow sometime!

I have a lot going on in the mani I am showing you today. After seeing pics though, I am wishing I left the accent finger out. The base for that is WnW InkWell with a stamp, and the rest of my fingers are Born Pretty Silver Shimmer with Dandy Nails Colorblind^2 on top. I love black and white glitters for their versatility and I love square glitters, so naturally I love this polish! The silver from Born Pretty is more like a glitter than a shimmer. It's very concentrated so it only takes about 2 coats to get a full coverage glitter look. Love that.

China Glaze Flirty Tankini + Glitter Frame Nail Art

Good morning!

I can't believe I haven't blogged this week! I have been so busy with life that I have barely had time to even pay attention to nail polish...I am about to go on vacation, so I'm not sure that's gonna change, but I really hope it does soon! I love the polish and blogging world, and the simple joy the polish can bring to your day. Cheesy, but that's how I feel! :)

So today I am reviewing and showing you a nail art look I did using some loose glitter from Born Pretty. They have a good selection of shapes and colors that come in little jars like the one below. For the look I used them for I hardly used any compared to what's in the container, so these are gonna last me a while!

I used China Glaze Flirty Tankini for the base. I painted one nail at a time and immediately began to stick the glitters around the edges of my nails. I used a pair of tweezers and pushed down on an individual piece of glitter to pick it up. I then carefully placed it in the wet polish. After I finished going around one nail, I topped it off with topcoat and moved on to the next.

This design was not nearly as time consuming or difficult as I thought it would be, especially for doing all 10 nails. It does take longer than, say, stamping a full mani, but nothing too crazy. Once you find your groove, placing the glitters goes pretty quickly.

I loved how this turned out! The glitter frame adds a luxe feeling my nails without being too over the top. So far the staying power of the glitter has been pretty good as well.
